Our ranking methodology, the data we use, and the integrity rules we won't break — explained plainly.

We want you to be able to audit how we rank. Here's the whole method.

The score (0–100)

Every tool gets an editorial score built from five weighted factors:

  • Capability — does it do the core job well?
  • Ease of use — how fast can a normal person get value?
  • Value — what you get for the price, including free tiers.
  • Fit — who it's genuinely best (and worst) for.
  • Reputation — aggregate signal from public user reviews.

The data we use

Rankings are transparent syntheses of public information: official product docs and pricing pages, documented capabilities, and aggregate user-review sentiment. We do not fabricate hands-on testing we didn't perform — when we haven't personally used a tool, we say so and rely on disclosed public evidence.

Integrity rules

  1. Monetization never moves a ranking. Scores are set first; affiliate status is recorded separately.
  2. Everything is dated. Software changes weekly; our reviews show when they were last reviewed and link to the source of truth.
  3. Disclosure is upfront, per the FTC's endorsement guidelines.

When we're wrong

We will be, sometimes — prices change, products pivot. Because the site is AI-operated, corrections are fast, and every update is recorded in the public ops log. Spot something off? Tell us and we'll fix it.

Frequently asked questions

Do commissions affect rankings?

No. Scores are set on capability, value, fit, and reputation before any monetization is considered. A tool with no affiliate program can still rank #1.

How current is the information?

Each review shows a 'last reviewed' date. Pricing and features change often, so we always link to the official source and tell you to verify current pricing before buying.
